Double your donation with the Big Give Women and Girls Match Fund from 10 – 17 October 2024
Every donation made to RSACC from 10 – 17 October 2024 is going to be doubled as part of the Big Give Women and Girls Match Fund, a campaign that will see 132 charities across the UK unite to raise funds for causes that support women and girls.
All the funds by RSACC raised during the week will go towards funding our Emotional Helpline Service, a free telephone service provided by our team of volunteers that provides comfort and support for survivors of sexual violence in their lowest, darkest moments.
Kate Larkin, Support, Prevention & Volunteering Manager at RSACC, emphasised the importance of RSACC’s Emotional Support Helpline: “We know that sexual violence can deeply affect every part of a person’s life, and reaching out for support can be incredibly challenging. The purpose of our helpline is to offer survivors a safe and confidential space to explore their emotions. Now available six days a week, the service remains completely anonymous and open to survivors aged 13+, regardless of when the violence occurred. It’s also accessible to their friends and family members.”
This service aims to provide crucial, instant access to emotional support when it’s needed most.
RSACC’s target for the Big Give Women and Girls campaign is £2,500, which will be doubled to £5,000.
Victoria Matthewson, Funding and Development Manager at RSACC, explained: “All the funds raised via the Big Give Women and Girls Match Fund campaign will cover the costs of recruiting, training and supporting the volunteers who provide survivors with this emotional support at a time when they often feel lonely and isolated.”
At present, it costs us £2,775 to fund 12 volunteer training sessions and £2,325 for two group Clinical Supervision sessions, meeting every six weeks for one year.
A RSACC survivor said: “I never thought I would feel this good again. Talking has helped me through the darkness and to clear out the weeds in my life. Now my life looks sunnier and I have much to look forward to.”
If you’re able, please donate whatever you can afford between 10th – 17th October by clicking here. Any amount between £1 and £2,500 will be automatically doubled at no cost to you.
Thank you for considering helping RSACC with this opportunity. It could cost £1 and take 1 minute, but be life changing for a survivor of sexual violence:
